Momentum Campaign

Sport New Brunswick, the leading support agency for sport systems throughout the province, launches with great hope its Momentum Campaign, a fundraiser aimed to address the growing demand on the organization for member services, namely among Provincial Sport Organizations. Specifically, funds will go towards optimizing effective member communication, supporting member organizational efficiency, and expanding its capacity to offer members free and subsidized business services.

Psychological Maltreatment in Sport (with a Focus on Online Behaviours). 

Psychological safety is a critical part of every athlete’s experience. But in today’s sport world, it’s not always clear what crosses the line into maltreatment—especially when interactions happen online.

Join Sport NB on October 7th at 1:00pm (AST) for this important session designed for sport participants and parents of youth athletes. We’ll explore:

• What is and is not considered psychological maltreatment in sport
• What online behaviours, such as group chats, social media posts, and digital team spaces, can become maltreatment.
• Practical strategies to recognize harmful patterns.

This webinar will give you the tools to better understand boundaries and protect athlete well-being and promote sport environments free of maltreatment. This free online delivery will be offered in English but simultaneous translation will also be made available. Given the topic of this webinar, please feel free to distribute this information widely so that all may benefit from its content.

A New Confidential Resource for Support and Guidance

Sport NB is committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in sport across New Brunswick. To support this commitment, Sport NB is pleased to introduce SafeZone, a resource designed to help participants, leadership and representatives navigate concerns, conflicts, and the complaint process.  

SafeZone provides a confidential, welcoming space where individuals can ask questions, share experiences, and receive guidance on issues such as harassment, bullying, abuse, or other forms of maltreatment. Whether you are an athlete, coach, parent, official, or club representative, SafeZone offers personalized support to help you understand your options and take confident steps forward.  

Call for nominations for Sport NB Coaching Council! 

Sport NB is seeking individuals for our Coaching Council to strengthen leadership and coaching development across the NB Sport System. The Council will focus on effectiveness of the coaching programs, provide recommendations for improvement, and foster continuous professional development for coaches in NB. 

The council will meet a minimum of 3 time a year and will work under the authority of the Sport NB of Directors. 

There are one-year and two-year term available.
